- WHAT SORT OF QUALIFICATIONS DO I GET? - HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME? - WHAT ARE THE HOURS? - DO YOU PROVIDE TOOLS AND PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, LIKE OVERALLS AND SAFETY GLASSES? - HOW MUCH DO I GET PAID? - WHAT ARE MY EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS? - DO I HAVE TO TAKE A JOB AT THE END OF THE COURSE? WHAT SORT OF JOB WILL I GET AT THE END? Initially this may be in the mechanical engineering area but could also be in a variety of different industries, including logistics, electrical, processing and general employment. INTRANZ will enable you to have access to the wide variety of businesses which are the fabric of the Wanganui business community.
WHAT SORT OF QUALIFICATIONS DO I GET? If you apply yourself and graduate you will gain the National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Level 2. You will also get a number of other NZQA Unit Standards. WHAT ARE THE HOURS? INTRANZ is based on the standard work day. That is, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (with standard breaks). There will also be vacation breaks in the programme throughout the year HOW MUCH DO I GET PAID? While you are not paid by INTRANZ you may still be eligible for training benefit funding. We will assist you in the application processes to ensure that you have access to the funding which may be available. WHAT ARE MY EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS? We have undertakings from industry to employ students who achieve the training standards and meet the attitude objectives of the course DO I HAVE TO TAKE A JOB AT THE END OF THE COURSE? No. We see this qualification helping you to look at wider opportunities than would have been available to you without the qualification. The skills you will learn are easily transferrable.
